2009 Mid-South Stocker Conference
"Stocker Solutions for Challenging Times"
February 24-25, 2009
Lake Barkley State Resort Park
Cadiz, Kentucky
The Mid-south Stocker Conference is scheduled for February 24 and 25. The Conference
will be at Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz, Kentucky. Lake Barkely State Park is conveniently located in easy driving distance of producers in the
Upper Mid-South area. This will be the fourth annual
conference. It is a cooperative effort between the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension
and UT Extension.

The theme for the Conference is "Stocker Solutions for Challenging Times." The cost of
production has nearly doubled the past couple of years and cattle producers are looking for
management and marketing options that will aid them in being more efficient and maintain
profitability. That is the focus of the Conference. (Brochure)
The Conference will get underway on February 24 with a tour of stocker and market
operators in the area as well as a reception and trade show of 25-30 exhibits opening on
February 24. The next day will consist of presentations focused on practices that will contribute
to reducing costs affiliated with stocker cattle production.
The objective of the Conference the past three years has been to provide producers
information that will be helpful to them in their operations.
Registration is $95.00 per person.
